JJ Watt is the Face of the Houston Texans Defense:

With his size, speed and ridiculous athleticism, JJ Watt is the guy that gets the engine going for the Houston Texans. His engine is constantly running and he wreaks havoc on opposing defenses. His strength can over power the offensive line and his speed can run down a small running back. He is definitely in a league of his own in NFL today and has his eyes set on the sack record. Can he do it? Only time will tell, but his vast improvement from rookie year to second year was outstanding. Another year under his belt can only leave you anxious to see what he does this year with a Texans defense that will be getting back a lot of missing components that they didn't have last season due to injuries. Don't blink, you could miss something amazing.

JJ Watt: College Years

JJ Watts
JJ Watt attended Central Michigan for one year playing tight end in 2007. Unhappy with his situation in Michigan,
Watt left for the University of Wisconsin. He recalls an encounter at his job while in college when he worked as a pizza delivery guy. He remembers delivering a pizza to a house where a young boy lived. This kid was a big fan of Wisconsin and recognized JJ Watt. In confusion the kid asked JJ why he was delivering pizzas. At that moment Watt says is when the light bulb sparked in his head. Remembering that kid helped him focus and put everything he had into training and preparation to make sure he lived out his dreams. This led to his Lott Trophy for his defensive achievements as well as a Rose Bowl Title. His unique skill set and hard work then landed him the 11th overall pick where the Houston Texans took him with great pleasure.

JJ Watt Stats :

JJ Watt Stats
In a solid rookie season, JJ Watt racked up a pretty decent stat line recording 56 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 4 passes defended. Not bad for a rookie playing a very disciplined position. Though many didn't yet know the name JJ Watt, people in Houston knew they were witnessing something special when they saw Watt growing week to week right before their eyes. This talent was finally displayed in front of a national crowd in the Houston Texans first playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals. As JJ Watt leaped and snatched a bullet pass by Andy Dalton from only yards away and returned it for a game changing touchdown and the Houston Texans first playoff victory. As the next year came around Texans fans knew they had something special, but they didn't expect this. In just his second season JJ Watt became a household name. In his second season he racked up 81 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 23 tackles for loss, and a whopping 16 passes defended earning him the nickname, JJ SWatt. In fact JJ Watt had more passes defended than many secondary players around the NFL and set a record easily for most passes defended by a defensive lineman. This amazing season led to NFL Defensive Player of the Year and a Pro Bowl Selection as well as making the highest debut in the NFL Top 100 Players Rankings, debuting at number 5.

JJ Watt Loves the Fans:

Houston Texans
With all this recognition and fame, JJ Watt has still maintained a very down to earth mind set. He is always seen with a smile on the field and treats all his opponents with respect. Aside from treating his fellow players with nothing short of class, he also loves his fans. Anytime you see JJ Watt he is connecting with fans of all ages giving hugs and taking pictures with a smile. The picture here is one taken with a little girl who said she was his biggest fan and claimed that when she got big she was going to marry JJ. He set up a meeting with the little girl and put on a proposal for her. She instantly hugged him and was so excited. He is also seen around training camp taking picture after picture and even at times taking people's phones to shoot videos with them. He is truly what the NFL needs out of their players. With all the negativity surrounding the NFL and all their player arrests, it is wonderful to see a player like JJ Watt doing good for the fans and community representing the NFL with honor and class. The Houston Texans are proud to call JJ Watt one of their own. A classy player part of a classy organization.

JJ Watt 2013:

JJ Watt
As the 2013 season arrives we can only wait with anticipation to see what JJ Watt does as an encore to the 2012 season. It may seem to many that there is no way he can do it again, but at the age of 24, there is still scarily much room for improvement. Can he get the insane 25 sack total in a season? Will he lead his defense and team to the Super Bowl? All these are things we can only wait to see. One thing though is for sure, JJ is the most exciting defensive player in the league and should be watched closely in 2013. GO TEXANS!!!
