It's Gameday Texans Fans
Everyone ready for the I-10 battle today against the Saints? Should be a good game today as the starters will see some extensive action as a dress rehearsal for the season. The Saints and Texans have always had some nice battles in the past, although the Saints have walked away the victor on many occasions. It's hard to judge anything in preseason though. Defensive schemes don't get unleashed until the regular season starts. Today we will be without Foster and Hopkins due to injuries. As long as we see good physical play out of the defense and see pressure on Brees, I think we can be happy with that.

What We're Looking For
We all know our Houston Texans are strong and solid. However, there are a couple things I think coaches should be looking out for. One would be support in the run game. It seems Foster is banged up and we know Ben Tate is more than capable of taking over at RB in case anything were to happen to Arian Foster. But who can step up in that scenario to give Tate some support? Its time to step up and show who next in line will be.
I can't really say much for the defense. We are solid and strong in all aspects of the defense. I think the main focus is to avoid injuries on defense today. The one thing I do think the Houston Texans need is to find that one X-factor receiver at the slot position. It seems this has always been something the Texans have been missing. I am fully expecting Hopkins to be ready in week 1 and will do great as our #2 WR. But Lestar Jean or Keyshawn Martin need to step up and be that guy that disrupt defenses from the slot position. Get some attention off of Dre and spread the D. We will see today as both Jean and Martin should get a lot of play with Hopkins out.
The one battle I know lots of people are waiting to see for another week is between T.J. Yates and Case Keenum. Both have done really well this preseason. Each have made a strong case for the backup role, but I think Case Keenum has been the better of the two by a slight margin. Excited to see what these two guys do today. I really think Case can be the future of this organization.
